Buying: what to know.
What does buying a home in Italy cost, on top of the price?
Purchase taxes (which depend on whether it is a main or second home and on whether the seller is a private individual or a company), notary fees, any mortgage costs and the agency commission. We calculate them with you before you make an offer.
Is a purchase offer binding in Italy?
Yes: by signing it you commit for the stated period and, once the seller accepts and you are informed, the agreement is concluded. That is why we draft it carefully, with clear conditions such as obtaining a mortgage.
Do I need to be in Italy to buy?
Not necessarily. After a first visit, many steps can be handled remotely, and the deed can be signed through a power of attorney.
